We kindly request that you only offer the houses-sit when you are confident that it will not be cancelled. However, if the house-sit is confirmed already, and your circumstances change, please contact the sitter you initially accepted as soon as possible. Please delete your house-sitting assignment as to prevent confusion (a new assignment can be made if necessary). To avoid complications in the future, we recommend clear communication of your circumstances to your potential house-sitters, and sending the offer once your plans are officially set.

We recommend meeting in person beforehand with the home-owner. However, whether to meet or not is at the discretion of the home-owner. For example, if your preparations are thorough and the home-owner has a positive impression of you, you may choose to meet on a video call instead of meeting in person.

Certainly, if you are looking for someone to stay in your home while you are away (ex. for maintenance, plant-care, security) you can still use our website. While the main function of this website is to match house-sitters with pet owners, it is not necessary for home-owners to own a pet themselves. If you are looking for a house-sitter, be sure to clearly outline your expectations to them.

This website allows registration for individuals who may not have prior qualifications or experience. If you can demonstrate your genuine love for animals and your ability to responsibly fulfill the requests of homeowners, experience or qualifications are not necessary. If you are unfamiliar with pets, it is recommended to ensure you a first comfortable with them by interacting with pets owned by people you know, as a way to gain some familiarity and experience.
